The Leaves Have Changed in Flagstaff for 2007!
Winter is fast approaching as the last two days have brought strong winds and cold temperatures to the highcountry. The Fall leaves have blown off of the trees and they are beginning to look bare. Thank you for visiting the "Leaf-O-Meter" this year. The "Leaf-O-Meter" will be back next Fall.
The Leaves Are Changing in Flagstaff!
Everyone here at Flagstaff.cc is proud to bring back the only "Leaf - O - Meter" in Northern Arizona. We promise we will keep a keen eye on all the changing of the leaves, both here in Flagstaff and up on the San Francisco Peaks. We will take pictures of our barometer trees twice a week starting the week of September 17th all the way until the last set of leaves fall. This year we have added our "Fall Foliage Self Guided Tour". Our tour takes you to the top 4 places to see the leaves change here in Northern Arizona. Enjoy your time here in Flagstaff. Please email us your photos when you come up to see the leaves change, we will put them on our website for everyone to view. If you can't make it up to Flagstaff in person, you can see the leaves live as they change by visiting "Flagstaff Webcam". You can control the webcam by zooming in and out and turning the camera left and right 360 degrees. Please help us keep the "Leaf-O-Meter" going by booking all your leaf viewing Flagstaff Hotels right here at Flagstaff.cc. Thank-You.

10-20-07 It was quite windy today blowing off alot of the leaves from the trees. This week coming up is probalby the last real good week for leaves and seeing them change. All over Flagstaff you can see that all the Aspen Trees are a rich yellow golden color. Check out Flagstaffwebcam.com to see some of the Aspen Trees and their colors.
10-16-07 Wow... In the last 48 hours we have seen a huge change in the colors of our city trees. That is why we have updated the "Leaf-O-Meter" to reds and yellow leaf colors. A large portion of the Aspen Trees have really turned to the golden yellow color and are beginning to drop off the trees. This is what we are seeing all over Flagstaff at the moment. We have experienced some colder nights and we think this is why we are seeing the leaves starting to change so fast. If you have plans on coming to Flagstaff to see the changing leaves this is probably your last weekend to view them before they all drop. Don't forget you can book your hotels right here on Flagstaff.cc.
10-4-07 All the Aspen trees that are located down town are not changing as fast as the leaves on the mountain. We are seeing some yellow in the city trees, but not enough to move the Leaf-O-Meter to the next level. Maybe in 2 or 3 days we will move the meter. Stay Tuned...

10/4/07-The nights are starting to get quite chilly and that means the leaves will begin to change very quick. The Aspen leaves out near locket meadow are further along than the leaves on the south side of the peaks. The leaves near Snow Bowl are changing quickly too.
9/29/07 The color change has started! The Aspen trees on the NE side of The San Francsico Peaks are starting to turn golden yellow. Locket Meadow is a perfect place to view this change right now. See our self-guided tour for directions. |
