Great Flagstaff AZ HIkes

For an easy hike with lots of scenery and a dusting of snow on the San Francisco Peaks, check out the Aspen Loop Trail at Snowbowl! The aspen trees are changing quickly to a golden yellow in color right now so plan to see it soon.

Aspen Loop Trail is an easy 2 ½ mile hike that is absolutely beautiful! The trail consists of a mild descent into a mixture of aspen and pine trees. The smell of the pines mixed with the beautiful aspen make for a relaxing and rejuvenating day! Once you have reached the center of the trail, the loop begins to ascend back to the original starting place.

To find Aspen Loop Trail, take Hwy. 180 north toward Snowbowl. Make a right on Snowbowl Road and continue 7 miles. Turn left into the first parking lot when you reach the top near the lodge. The trailhead is on the left.

This is a quick hike but think about taking a lunch and enjoying the sights, smells and sounds of what Flagstaff Arizona has to offer. Don’t forget your camera and water!
