Flagstaff Route 66
The Mother Road, Route 66, was a major factor in the development of Flagstaff. There are still sections of the highway on which you can drive in northern Arizona. It’s length through town is still labeled as Route 66 in Flagstaff.
Many landmarks still exist along it’s path. The Museum Club was established in 1931. This modern day roadhouse has seen many transitions to get to it’s modern day version. The Weatherford Hotel in historic downtown Flagstaff has it’s beginnings back in 1900 on Route 66. Plus another famous downtown hotel in Flagstaff is the Hotel Monte Vista which was built in 1924. All of these landmarks show their history and provide you with their tales of history, ghosts, celebrities and guests. Book hotels and motels along Route 66 here on Flagstaff Webcam.com.
Route 66 also is a landmark in the city of Williams, 30 miles west of Flagstaff. It too has a long history and the downtown Williams area is a tribute to the historic highway.
